CINEMA CITY GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. „Cinema City Bulgaria” EOOD is a solely-owned limited liability company, incorporated and registered pursuant to the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, with Uniform ID No 130573398, having its seat and registered address in Sofia 1303, Vazrajdane Region, 45 Bregalnitsa str. (hereinafter referred to as „Cinema City” or the „Company”).
2. The Company is a part of Cinema City International – the largest chain of multiplexes in Central and Eastern Europe. Cinema City is registered with the National Public Register of Film Exhibitors, kept by the National Film Centre Executive Agency, under entry number 2006300046.
3. Cinema City manages 7 multiplexes in 6 different cities – Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Rousse and Burgas, Varna as follows:

EFFECT OF THE GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
4. These general terms and conditions (the „GTCs”) shall apply to the film exhibition service offered by the Company and shall have effect in respect of all multiplexes operated by Cinema City. The current version of these GTCs shall be published on www.cinemacity.bg (the „Website”) and placed within the multiplexes at customers’ disposal. Company reserves the right to change the GTCs from time to time, where the relevant changes shall enter into force as of the publication of the changed GTCs on the Website and their placement within the multiplexes at customers’ disposal. Before buying a ticket for a screening or using any service offered by Cinema City customers should check and get acquainted with these GTCs.
5. By purchasing a ticket for a film screening the customer agrees to be bound by these GTCs.
TICKETS
6. The exhibition of films is a paid service and customers need to buy a ticket to use it, unless otherwise provided for in these GTCs.
7. The price of tickets may vary in the different multiplexes operated by the Company. Current ticket prices are listed on the Website, in the “Summary&Prices” section of each multiplex, and displayed prominently at the cash desks of each multiplex. All prices are inclusive of value added tax.
8. Following the issuance of a ticket no corrections or replacement with ticket for another screening or for another film, nor refund of its price marked on the ticket, is allowed, unless otherwise provided for in these GTCs. In this respect we ask the customers to be diligent when purchasing tickets and consider in advance the film, day and time of screening, and seats in the cinema hall which they are willing to use, and number and type of tickets which they are willing to buy. After you make your choice of film, screening, number and type of tickets, seats at the cashier desk, the cashiers shall give you the opportunity to check whether your choice is properly recorded by turning to you the screen with details of your order. In case of any objections, point them out immediately to the cashiers, as following the issuance of tickets the same may not be corrected, replaced or returned.
9. Each ticket entitles its holder to visit only the screening marked on the ticket, on the date and within the hours specified thereon, and in the cinema hall designated by Cinema City for that screening. The duration of the customer’s visit is limited by the duration of the screening. Immediately following the end of the screening the customer is obliged to leave the cinema hall even if the customer has a ticket for the immediately following screening in the same cinema hall.
10. Customers are required to keep their tickets as of their purchase until the end of the respective screening and their exit of the multiplex. Cinema City is not responsible for lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged tickets and is not obliged to reissue tickets or refund the price paid for them.
11. Cinema City employees may refuse access to the cinema halls and screenings to persons without tickets for the respective screening as well as to persons who present damaged, torn, unreadable tickets or tickets manipulated in any way.
12. Customers should take their seats in the cinema hall before the start of the respective screening, but not earlier than 30 minutes before the start of the respective screening. Regardless of the possession of a ticket for a screening if the customer arrives after the start of the screening the customer may be denied access to the screening without Cinema City having to refund the price paid for the ticket or pay any compensation. At the discretion of the manager of the multiplex the late customer may be granted access to the screening at suitable time determined by the manager so that the other customers are not disturbed or their disturbance is minimized.
13. In the event of terminated, cancelled or replaced screening due to technical or other reasons attributable to Cinema City, upon the sole discretion of Cinema City:
- the customer will be refunded the ticket price paid by customer;
or
- the customer will be granted another ticket or the current ticket will be validated for another screening of the same or another film according to the screening schedule of the respective multiplex.
In this event Cinema City shall not pay to the customer any compensation or damages including but not limited to transportation costs, parking fees, costs for food and drinks and so on. To benefit from their rights hereunder customers should present to Cinema City a valid ticket from the screening which was terminated, cancelled or rescheduled not later than 2 days as of the day of the cancelled, terminated or rescheduled screening.
14. The purchase of a ticket entitles the customer to visit the cinema hall designated by Cinema City for the respective screening within the duration of the screening and to watch the film to which the ticket refers while using the seat marked on the ticket only if the customer meets all requirements set out in these GTCs and/or the law. If, after the purchase of a ticket, the customer refuses to visit the screening or does not use its seat in the cinema hall or does not watch the film or leaves the screening before the end of the film Cinema City shall not refund the ticket price nor shall pay any compensation to customer.
15. Cinema City Bulgaria EOOD is registered under the Value Added Tax Act. When the issue of an invoice is not obligatory, as per the law, in case you wish to receive such an invoice, please contact us at the contacts listed in these rules.
16. Cinemas City offers various kinds of vouchers exchangeable for tickets or selected products available at the cinema bar. The rules of using and purchasing vouchers are specified in OUR VOUCHER RULES. Once the voucher has been exchanged for a ticket to the Cinema City cinema, it is not possible to return or change the ticket. From time to time, vouchers can be issued or sent to Customers for using any of Cinema City services.
ONLINE SALES
17. Cinema City offers to its customers the possibility for online sale of tickets through the Company’s Website.
18. The rules and conditions for online sales and booking are governed by THE GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ONLINE SALE OF CINEMA TICKETS are available on the Company's website.
19. Cinema City reserves the right to make ad hoc operative changes on its halls seating plans to meet all enforced capacity regulations, in connection with Covid-19 or other, which might change from time to time.
DISCOUNTS
20. The price of tickets for the films screened in the different multiplexes may vary in terms of the particular multiplex, the movie, screening days and hours and other criteria specified at the sole discretion of Cinema City.
21. Cinema City determines a regular ticket price for regular screenings which is subject to discounts for certain categories of customers and subject to certain conditions:
- Students discount
The discount applies to all students upon presentation of a valid ISIC card or another proof of the ‘student’ capacity of the person. The discount shall not apply to persons engaged in distance form of education.
- Discount for pupils and high school students
The discount applies to all pupils and high school students upon presentation of a valid pupil’s/student’s ID card or another proof of the ‘pupil/student’ capacity of the person.
- Children discount
The discount applies to all people aged under 18Y upon presentation of a valid proof of age.
- Pensioners discount
The discount applies to all pensioners upon presentation of a valid proof of the pensioner capacity of the person.
- Discount for persons with permanent disabilities
The discount applies to all persons with permanent disabilities in the meaning of § 1, point 2 of the Supplementary Provisions of the Integration of People with Disabilities Act and certify their capacity by presentation of a valid document.
- Discount for persons with permanent disabilities who are wheelchair users
These persons, upon proof of their capacity of persons with permanent disabilities who are wheelchair users, are entitled to a ticket at the price of 0.00 leva, provided that they occupy the wheelchair seats in the cinema hall and are accompanied by another person capable of taking care of them during emergency situations. The companion/assistant shall pay a ticket price according to the category (regular ticket price or discounted ticket price) he or she belongs as per these GTCs.
- Discount for teachers accompanying school groups
For each school group consisting of at least 10 pupils one teacher who accompanies and supervises the group is entitled to a ticket at the price of 0.00 leva, upon verification of his/her capacity.
22. The persons willing to buy discounted tickets shall have to prove their right to the respective discount (e.g. by proving their age, their capacity of a student, high-school student or pensioner etc.) by one or more up-to-date documents issued in Bulgarian or accompanied by an official translation in Bulgarian made by a certified translator. To avoid abuses, upon presentation of documents for review by the employees of Cinema City, at least one of the documents must bear a photograph of the person willing to use the discount. The documents under this item 24 may be checked by the employees of Cinema City not only before the purchase of tickets, but also during the inspection of tickets by the ushers or before admission of customers to the cinema hall.
23. In case a person who is willing to use a discount on the ticket price fails to certify his/her right to a discount, the sale of a discounted ticket shall be denied, and if such person has somehow succeeded to obtain a discounted ticket he/she shall be denied access to the screening unless he/she pays the difference to the price of a ticket without concession. The person to whom a sale of a discounted ticket is denied may still visit the screening if he/she buys a ticket without discount.
24. The person who has bought a discounted ticket may not sell, exchange, grant or transfer the ticket to another person unless that other person meets the requirements to receive a discounted ticket of the same type. If, however, such transfer has been carried out the person acquiring discounted ticket without being entitled to purchase such shall not be given access to the screening unless he/she pays the difference to the price of a ticket without concession, where, in such cases Cinema City shall not bear any responsibility.
25. The persons entitled to use a discount from the regular ticket price should be aware that there may be screenings to which such a regular price may not apply (pre-premierеs, premierеs, special screenings, others). These persons have to check in advance whether there is a reduction in the ticket price for the screening they are willing to attend.
26. Customers should note that the prices of tickets for pre-premieres and premieres may be higher than the regular tickets price.
27. Accumulation of discounts is not possible. If a person meets simultaneously several conditions for discount (e.g. the customer is both a pensioner and a disabled person), such a person is entitled to one discount only depending on the category to which he/she wishes to be classified (in the above example the customer is entitled to buy either a discounted ticket for a pensioner or a discounted ticket for a disabled person).
3D GLASSES
28. Due to technical characteristics and specifications of the projection apparatus the rules for usage of 3D glasses for 3D screenings in the different multiplexes operated by Cinema City, may vary.
29. In the Cinema City Burgas, Cinema City Varna, Cinema City Sofia - Mall ofSofia, Cinema City Sofia - Paradise center and Cinema City Plovdiv multiplexes the price of individual 3D glasses for 3D films is 2,50 BGN, VAT incl., and is paid in addition to the ticket price. In the IMAX theatre in Cinema City Mall Sofia the price of the special 3D Next Gen IMAX glasses is 2,50 BGN. VAT incl. By payment of the price for the 3D glasses the glasses shall become the property of their purchaser. The glasses are reusable. Cinema City does not give any warranties as to the ability of the customers to watch 3D films with 3D glasses not purchased from Cinema City or the quality of the performance.
30. In Cinema City Ruse and Cinema City Stara Zagora multiplexes there is not a possibility for purchase of 3D glasses for 3D screenings but only for their one-off usage for the duration of the screening against payment of a ‘3D fee’. The ‘3D fee’ amounts to 1,50 BGN, VAT incl., and covers the lease of the 3D glasses and the cost of their cleaning. For all 3D films screened in those multiplexes the ‘3D fee’ is included in the ticket price and shall not be additionally paid. There is no reduction in the ticket price for 3D films by the amount of the ‘3D fee’ if the customer refuses to use 3D glasses irrespective of the reasons therefor. The 3D glasses are provided to the customers following their presentation of a valid ticket for the respective 3D screening. Following the end of the screening the customers are obliged to return the 3D glasses at the specifically designated place. As of their receipt until their return the customers are obliged to keep the 3D glasses, to use them in accordance with their intended purpose of use and to protect them from loss, theft, destruction or damage. In the event of a loss, theft, destruction or damage of the 3D glasses the customers shall pay to Cinema City a compensation of 25 BGN.
FILMS AND SCREENINGS
31. Each film screened by Cinema City is assigned a film category by the National Film Categorization Commission to the Executive Director of the National Film Centre Executive Agency. The film categorization is shown on the film distribution/exhibition visa. The following notices are put on all advertisements and promotional materials for the film distribution or exhibition according to the assigned film category:
Category „А” – „Aimed at young audience”
Category „B” – „No age restrictions”
Category „C” – „Not recommended for children under 12Y”
Category „C+” – „Not recommended for children under 14Y”
Category „D” – „Prohibited for persons under 16Y”
Category „D+” – „Not recommended for children under 16Y”
Category „X” – „Restricted to adults only”
32. Cinema City does not bear any responsibility for the film categorization. Each customer shall decide on its own whether to watch a certain movie taking into account the special rules for access to film exhibition of persons under the age of 18Y.
33. Customers’ access to screenings is carried out in accordance with the films categorization and the resulting limitations. If a customer has purchased a ticket for a screening to which the customer has no right of access because of the film categorization and the age of the customer, and such access is denied, Cinema City shall not refund to customer the price of the ticket, neither shall replace the ticket for another screening nor shall pay any compensation to the customer.
34. Cinema City may check the age of customers willing to attend a screening in order to verify whether the age requirements resulting from the categorization of films are fulfilled. The check may be performed not only before the sale of the ticket but also during the ticket inspection and the access of the customer to the cinema hall. Cinema City may deny access to a screening of a customer whose age does not meet the requirements resulting from the film categorization. The check of customers age is carried out in accordance with the rules set out in ‘Security and Checks’ section of these GTCs.
35. Cinema City is not responsible and makes no warranties as to the contents of films, their artistic value, whether they belong to a certain genre or whether they are suitable for children, pregnant women, elder people, and people with heart or other diseases.
36. Cinema City will make all reasonable efforts so as to ensure that the announced screening schedule of films is respected. In the event of changes in the screening schedule, if there are not any customers who have purchased tickets for the changed or cancelled screenings Cinema City shall not pay to potential customers any compensation. The relations between Cinema City and customers who have purchased tickets for cancelled or changed screenings shall be governed by the rules set out in Article 14 above. Changes in already announced screening schedules shall be announced on the Website and/or in the multiplexes, where the customers shall check themselves for such changes.
37. Cinema City has the right to broadcast trailers and commercial spots before the film, so the scheduled start time of the screening does not match the start of the actual movie.
ACCESS OF PEOPLE UNDER 18Y OF AGE
38. The access of people under 18Y to the Cinema City multiplexes shall be governed by the following rules:
- During screenings marked ‘A’ category – „Aimed at young audience” the cinema hall is open to all persons regardless of their age.
- During screenings marked ‘B’ category – „No age restrictions” the cinema hall is open to all persons regardless of their age.
- During screenings marked ‘C’ category – „Not recommended for children under 12Y ” the cinema hall is not open to persons under 12Y unless accompanied by an adult.
- During screenings marked ‘C+’ category – „Not recommended for children under 14Y ” the cinema hall is not open to persons under 14Y unless accompanied by an adult.
- During screenings marked ‘D’ category – „Prohibited for persons under 16Y” the cinema hall is not open to persons under 16Y.
- During screenings marked ‘D+’ category – „Not recommended for children under 16Y ” the cinema hall is not open to persons under 16Y unless accompanied by an adult.
- During screenings marked ‘X’ category – „Restricted to adults only” the cinema hall is not open to persons under 18Y.
39. After 20:00 p.m., a child who is under 14Y, respectively after 22:00 p.m. a child who is 14Y but under 18Y, shall be accompanied by a parent, guardian, custodian or another person taking care of the child. If parents, guardians, custodians or the other persons taking care of a child cannot accompany the child, they have to provide for a fully-capable adult as its companion in the multiplexes after 22:00 p.m., if the child has turned 14Y but is still under 18Y, as in this case, they should certify the status of the companion with a declaration form, in compliance with an appendix to the present rules.
40. Cinema City has the right to deny access to a screening of each person who must be accompanied, but the companion is missing or does not meet the criteria set out in the preceding paragraph, or a declaration form certify the status of the companion is missing, irrespective of whether such persons have purchased tickets for the screening they are willing to attend. In case Cinema City denies access pursuant to the preceding sentence, Cinema City shall not reimburse the persons to which access is denied for the ticket price paid by them neither shall pay any other compensation. Verification of the age of persons shall be carried out in accordance with the rules set out in the ‘Security and Checks’ section of these GTCs.
41. For the convenience of our customers and their children we do not recommend the Cinema City multiplexes to be visited by children under 3Y of age. Parents should be aware that conditions in cinema halls may not be suitable for their children – during screenings the lights are off, the sound is loud and some of the films have special sound or visual effects that may startle or disturb the children. If you insist on visiting a screening together with your child please be aware that if your child is noisy or disturbs the other viewers of the screening you will be asked to leave immediately the cinema hall in which case you are not entitled to refund of the ticket price or any other compensation.
42. Each person aged from 0+ months to 18Y attending a screening in the Cinema City multiplexes should buy a ticket irrespective of whether such person shall use a seat in the cinema hall or watch the film. The persons aged up to 18Y shall benefit from a discount in the regular ticket price. For more information please refer to the ‘Discounts’ section of these GTCs.
ACCESS OF ANIMALS
43. Animals, regardless of their type and status, shall not be granted access to the Cinema City multiplexes. Exceptions are allowed only for guide dogs of persons with disabilities. To be allowed in the cinema hall, the guide dog must be led on a short non-stretchable strap and its veterinary passport and a guide dog certificate must be presented for inspection to the employees of Cinema City. A ticket for the guide dog is not required.
RULES OF CONDUCT
44. In the Cinema City multiplexes it is not allowed:
- to carry and consume food and beverages bought outside the relevant multiplex;
- to smoke in any form and by any means, including but not limited to tobacco pipes, electronic cigarettes and the like;
- the consumption of alcoholic beverages by persons under 18Y;
- the use of weapons, ammunition, explosives, pyrotechnic articles, other dangerous devices, narcotics, drugs and any other substances whose usage is prohibited and/or dangerous to life and health of people;
- talking and any other activities which disturb or may disturb the other visitors during screenings (kicking and pushing seats, rustling, talking on mobile phones, playing of video or sound recordings, singing, running, climbing, jumping, etc.);
- placement of feet (with shoes or not) on the seats;
- running in the hallways, walkways, stairs or in the lobby;
- leaving young children unattended; leaving young children to cause disturbance to other viewers;
- disposal of waste not in the designated areas;
- placement of personal belongings on seats for which no ticket is bought or between the rows of seats or on the aisles;
- entry and stay in staff and technical offices;
- entry and stay of persons visibly intoxicated, agitated or in aggressive mood, as well as persons who may be presumed to be under the influence of drugs;
- entry and stay of persons with indecent clothing or unhygienic or untidy appearance; the existence of these circumstances shall be assessed on spot by the respective multiplex manager;
- entry and stay of persons without ID document or school ID card;
- entry and stay of persons who refuse to be checked.
45. Persons who do not comply with the above rules of conduct will be asked to leave the multiplex irrespective of whether they have purchased a ticket or the screening is in progress. If customers refuse to leave the multiplex voluntarily, they will be forced to leave the complex by the police authorities following the prescribed procedure. In this case Cinema City shall not reimburse the customers who left or were forced to leave the multiplex for the ticket price or the price of the other services used by them neither shall pay them a compensation of any kind.
PIRACY
46. The films screened in the Cinema City multiplexes are the result of the efforts of hundreds of people. In order to protect their rights and their work the use of video cameras and any other recording, filming or broadcasting devices during screenings is strictly forbidden.
47. Cinema City reminds that any recording, copying, reproduction, distribution, broadcasting or transmission of films and film materials without permission is a crime punishable by imprisonment of up to five years. Cinema City prohibits such actions on the territory of its multiplexes. The Company is warning its customers that any person violating the anti-piracy rules shall be immediately asked or forced to leave the cinema hall, detained and handed over to the police authorities, and the equipment used by him/her shall be confiscated by the police authorities.
48. Cinema City asks its customers not to keep in secret any violations of the copyright and related rights and to report such violations to the cinema staff.
SECURITY AND CHECKS
49. Cinema City multiplexes are guarded areas. Security guards and technical devices for video surveillance are used to secure each location.
50. The customers may verify the fulfillment of the conditions for access to the cinema halls and the conditions for purchase and use of discounted tickets by all appropriate and up-to-date documents issued in Bulgarian or accompanied by an official translation in Bulgarian made by a certified translator, such as ID card, passport, driving license, birth certificate, certified students card, ISIC card, school card, etc. These documents may be required for inspection by the cashiers, ushers or other employees of the multiplexes. If a person is not willing to present a document certifying his/her right to access the cinema hall or purchase discounted tickets, such person shall not be granted access, respectively discounted tickets.
51. Your tickets, documents and luggage may be checked when you’re purchasing tickets or thereafter, at the entry of the cinema hall where your ticket is checked or during your stay therein, in case Cinema City employees suspect any violation of law or these GTCs by you or with your cooperation.
52. Cinema City shall not bear any responsibility for lost or stolen tickets or personal belongings.
LIABILITY
53. Without prejudice to the applicability of the mandatory provisions of law, the liability of Cinema City in connection to or arising out of the services offered by Company or its activities as a film exhibitor managing the multiplexes specified at the beginning of these GTCs, shall be limited to willful misconduct and gross negligence, and to the price paid by customers for the respective services (e.g. ticket price, price of 3D glasses, etc.). The foregoing shall not relieve Cinema City from liability which Cinema City cannot exclude or limit by operation of law in case of death or body injury to customers caused as a result of acts or omissions of the Company.
MISCELLANEOUS
54. To all matters not explicitly governed hereunder the Bulgarian law shall apply.
55. Cinema City shall maintain in each of its multiplexes a register of complaints, praises and claims. Claims could be filed during working hours at the multiplexes and the registered address of the Company. In case of a problem in the cinema, please contact the manager of the respective venue.
56. In case of a dispute between customers and Cinema City, the parties shall make all reasonable and necessary efforts to resolve the dispute in an amicable way through negotiations and mutual concessions. Failing to reach an agreement within one month as of the occurrence of the dispute shall result to its submission to the competent Bulgarian court in the city of Sofia.
These amended GTCs are adopted by a resolution of the directors of the Company dated 01.04.2024.
